Privacy Policy in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act)

Eco Info And Associates Environmental Services (Pty) Ltd, EIAA for short, hereby wish to confirm to its clients, applicants, associates and members of the public which make use of EIAA’s services or register as Interested And Affected Parties, that EIAA will not use the information collected for any other purpose than what it was intended for. EIAA wants to emphasise that it is an environmental management company, and therefore does not need to collect personal data for the purpose of EIAA doing business,  as in the case of financial services, health care, and marketing institutions (https://popia.co.za/). The services provided by EIAA’s staff and its associates are regulated by the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (https://eapasa.org/site/) and the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (https://www.sacnasp.org.za/).

However, personal data (name and contact details) of registered Interested and Affected Parties will be available in the public domain, as required by the public participation process in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of the National Environmental Management Act (https://www.environment.gov.za/legislation/actsregulations). This information will be contained in the Basic Assessment Report (BAR) or Environmental Impact Report (EIR) depending on the nature of the environmental impact assessment process. These documents are distributed as hard copies or digital copies in public places (libraries, police stations, receptions, the company website, cloud services) for review by the public at large.
